Bridgewater, NJ Mosque Settlement: $7.75 Million
This news is 10 days old and I’m sure you guys are getting tired of me posting about the building of mosques being opposed and/or (permits) denied, but I just found out about this one and I have to admit it made me LOL. I’m sure it will send the haters into spittle-flecked paroxysms of rage about government tyranny and judicial activist judges forcing Americans to pay for the impending Shariafication of their beloved country (they don’t mind the tyranny & activism so much, as long as things tilt in their favor).
The story is basically this: Back in 2011, an a mosque called Al Falah Center filed for a zoning variance to turn a vacant 15,500 sq. ft. banquet hall & parking lot sitting on a 7.6-acre property into a mosque. Freak-outs ensued. Residents in the area were concerned. About what? Wait for it… wait… traffic! It had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, Muslims or any kind of bigotry, mkay?1
After the request was filed, but before the proposed zoning change could be reviewed by the local planning boar, the township council passed a new ordinance restricting where houses of worship, country clubs, and schools could be built. After that it was on—the Muslims were pissed. Being good, law abiding American citizens, they didn’t feel the need to run out and blow anything up or chop off anyone’s head—they went to court. Imagine that. //
Anyway, three years and hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars (in legal fees) later, it has all turned into a massive #FAIL for the township of Bridgewater.
Emphasis added is mine:
There will be no mosque on Mountaintop Road.
Instead, under the terms of a settlement between the township and the Al Falah Center, a mosque will be built between Routes 202-206 and 287 on a 15-acre lot the township will buy for $2.75 million.
The township will exchange that lot for the former Redwood Inn property on Mountaintop Road where the mosque originally was proposed.
In addition, the township’s insurance carrier will pay the Al Falah Center $5 million for alleged damages, costs and attorney fees in exchange for dropping its lawsuit against the township. […]
Members of the Al Falah Center were satisfied with the settlement. […]
The settlement, approved unanimously Monday by the township council, ends a bitter three-year dispute that landed in federal court and already has cost the township hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. […]
Ouch, that’s gonna leave a mark.
So umm, Kennesaw? Bensalem? And who knows how many other cities & towns out there? You guys might want to rethink your decisions lest you end up costing your taxpayers a fortune and paying for a new mosque.

- Google search results for "mosque concerns traffic OR parking": 488,000
- Google search results "racist" AND "black friend": 150,000
Aha! I’ll bet the black friends all those racists claim to have are the ones driving around from town to town creating traffic & parking problems around mosques.
What?? It makes as much sense as terrorist anchor babies and Ebola infected members of ISIS pouring over the Mexican border to kill and/or dhimmify everyone. // #sarcasm
